How To Buy Replacement Car Speakers

Driving your own car while listening to your favorite music makes the travel experience a lot better. However, there’s nothing good about listening to music through car speakers that are just blah. If this is the case, try replacing your current car speakers. Below is a handy guide to buying 4×6 speakers for your vehicle sound system.

A Budget

First of all, are you revamping the whole audio system? Or are you looking to replace the speaker only? Set aside enough money money for all the products and services you’re going to need. Look at your current finances and decide how much money you’re willing to spend. This way, you’ll be able to keep costs in a reasonable range, prevent overspending, and control your budget.

Modifying Your Car

Think about how much modification the car needs. There are vehicle speakers that need more modification than others, and this might force you to shell out more cash. On the other hand, you’ll miss the chance at boosting your car’s resale value if you decide to keep the sound system.

How Long Will the Car be Used?

It doesn’t make complete sense to purchase expensive speakers for a car that you’re going to sell next month. If you want to use the car for at least two years, however, then a good speaker system would be a worthwhile buy. Still, it’s going to do you good if you upgrade the sound system and eventually sell the car, although you should keep budget in mind and keep costs at a minimum.

What is Your Car Used For?

If you do a lot of travelling or if your car is on the road just about every day, consider splurging and getting the speakers with the best quality your money can afford. Your car serves as your second home, so if you’re going to practically live in it, might as well make it as comfortable as possible. Also, if you enjoy being out on the road because of the music experience, you’ll also enjoy work hours. But if your car just sits in the driveway or garage most days, or if you only get in the car to go to the grocery store, you might only be wasting money if you get a high-end model.

What Music Do You Listen To?

The type of music you’re into actually should influence the kind of sound system for your car. If you love songs with thunderous bass, buy powerful subwoofers and amplifiers. However, if your favorite kind of music ranges from pop to classical, the best speaker system is the kind that delivers the whole audio spectrum equally.

More Tips

Some people think, the heavier the magnets, the better the speakers. Speakers that have heavy magnets actually can’t be powered by average car stereos.

Measure the openings of the speakers before going to the store so you get just the right size. If you find it hard to get the correct measurements, take the original speakers to the store with you. A door panel popper will make the removal a lot easier. After getting the speakers out, label the wires in the car so that you won’t mess up with installing.

Lastly, read 4×6 speakers reviews prior to getting a specific model to make sure to get great value for your cash.

A Tutorial On Setting Up Speakers

5.1 computer speakers or simply the 5.1 is the most common name for the six channel surround sound. It is the most commonly used layout in both commercial cinemas and home theaters. The term 5.1 basically stands for the six speakers wherein five speakers have similar uses and the other – the subwoofer – is used intensively for bass sound production.

Surround sound actually encompasses a wide range of techniques such as for enriching the sound reproduction quality of an audio source with audio channels reproduced through additional and discrete speakers. It is characterized by a listener location or the sweet spot where the audio effects work best, and presents a fixed or forward perspective of the sound field to the listener at this location. Remember always that the goal of the all the speaker placement is a smooth, consistent and unbroken sound. Simply said, location matters.

Remember what our teachers thought us in grade school? Sound can trip over objects, bounce off walls, get lost in a fluffy couch, or fall to any number of other physical impediments. Poor locations will spoil the sound, while careful place on the other hand is sure to bring out the best in your gear.

Determining the best location will take an enormous amount of time and effort. Aside from determining the right spot, you will also have to dial it in, configure the whole room, do the cables and the phasing as well. If you do not have much time and effort to spare, another alternative is to follow the basic set up for the 5.1 speaker.

Before proceeding, let us first get to know the 5.1 speaker a tiny bit better. The 5.1 has five discrete audio channels: Left, Right, Center, Left Surround, Right Surround and the Subwoofer.

The 5.1 speaker can be hooked up to a number of mediums the most common of which are the television and the computer. If you are connecting it to the former, you will first have to place the Left and Right speakers at ear height making sure to produce a 45 degree angle as viewed from the seating position so that the speaker deliver a wide sound stage and accurate localization of individual sounds. Two, position the speaker either up or below the TV pointing it directly to the listener. Third are the SL and SR. Position them about two feet higher than the listener and between 90 degrees to 110 degrees to each side. Four, put subs in the middle of the opposing walls if you have two. If you only have one, then put it in the middle front wall. And that is how you set the speaker up.

If you hooked the speaker to the computer, the same steps still apply. Only, place the SL and the SR about 56 inches behind the seating position. And oh, recommended seating position is 28 inches from the monitor.

That, my friends, is the way to set up the 5.1 speakers. By the way, i hear quite a number have been asking about 5.1 computer speakers amplifier. But that is another story.

5 Tips That Ensures You The Best 6×9 Or 4×6 Speakers

Buying a new set of speakers for your car is never as easy as they make it sound. Speakers are thought to be the most vital part of every sound or audio system. They basically “make” the music . That is why, choosing the right one for you is not an easy task. There are a lot of choices and many things to consider. You can find car speakers in a wide range of prices, depending on the size, power, number of speakers, brand name, and a few other factors. And they are also relatively cheaper.

However, one of the problem when it comes to choosing a speaker is that each type of vehicle, or car, has its own sound characteristics. The audio output can also be influenced by the accessories found inside the car, the interior or the fabrics used itself.

Another issue making your choice difficult is that you can only hear the end result after you’ve installed the actual speakers in your car. Usually a car accessory shop shows its speakers in a speaker stand inside the store. However, choosing the best speaker in the stand does not assure you that it is the right choice.

What makes it even more complicated is your personal sound preference. Some people prefer louder with deeper base sound. One of the most sought-out speakers is the 4×6 speakers with bass. Most popular with students or those who are on a budget because 4×6 speakers are cheaper, smaller in size but with a good enough sound quality. These speakers are also very sturdy.

Others may have a daring choice when it comes to sound, some, however, prefers a more “balanced” sound throughout.

So what can you do to improve the odds of choosing the right speaker for your specific situation? Well there are a few items you should take into consideration; the following five tips are the most important ones:.

1) Do your research and take your time for it.
Magazines are one of the best resources for such research. You could browse through Car Stereo Review, Car Audio and Electronics, Auto Sound and many more. You can also read reviews from Car Audio and Electronics online site. Most reviews and articles in these magazines provide valuable information about different speakers and can provide you a list of speakers for further investigation.

2) Look for speakers that match your music style.
Use your research to find speakers that have good ratings for the music style you like.

3) The speakers should match your car.
Find out the maximum diameter and depth of the speaker of your choice. It would be such a shame if after all the excitement, you’d find out that your super speakers doesn’t fit in your car!

4) Find a speaker set that matches your cars sound system.
It is important that you look up the output values of your amplifier. Every speaker has a PMPO (Peak Momentary Power) value and a RMS (Root Main Square) value. The first being the max peak power the speaker can handle for a very short time and the second value is the average power the speaker is build for. Only buy speakers with a RMS that is higher than your amplifier output.

5) Go for component speakers.
If you want more flexibility in your overall sound color, then you should go for component speakers. You can create a balanced music picture with component speakers. If needed, they can tune the output of the system according to the characteristics of your car. However, it is difficult to get a good and balanced music output.

Besides these five tips, there is more you could learn about sound systems and speakers. To get the maximum out of your speakers it is important to know a few things about the other parts of your sound system, like your DVD player, your amplifier and wiring. And at least with the tips I’ve given you, you are stirred in the right path.

Knowing How: Installing Speakers To Computers

How do you feel about watching movies and listening to music? How about on-line games? If you love all three, then i have a feeling it just won’t do if you do not have speakers of good quality with you.

Before you get to enjoy your speakers though, you will first have to know about pc speakers connections. Connecting them is relatively easy, that is if you have even a bit of background on computers and speakers. If you don’t, then it will be a bit more difficult.

First and foremost, you should know things about your speaker and computer. Generally, with speaker systems, cables from the speakers connected to the subwoofer which comes with a set of wires to connect including a power cord to connect the system to the AC outlet, a power connector to feed the subwoofer and the subwoofer wires. At the very least, three sets of cable should be there. Most of thew time, the cables are color coded saving you trouble and confusion.

Computers have at least three connectors: line-in, line-out and mic. Other computers have two more connectors: the rear out and the center/subwoofer out. The last two are usually more difficult to find so don’t fret when you don’t see them immediately. To be sure that you don’t miss it, check the computer’s backside.

If there really is not rear out and center/subwoofer out, it will be a disadvantage to you but you can still connect your 5.1 speakers. You just have to use the line-in and the mic plugs as alternative.

All that is left to do is configuring the software. This is quite simple. You only have to open the operating system and check the 6 channel output if you are using the 5.1 speakers.

Aside for computer use, the 5.1 pc speakers dvd player is also quite effective. The variety of speakers sold are endless but the 5.1 comes with high recommendation from both experts and users. It is said that the 5.1 produces very excellent sound quality and is able to adapt to any connection specially computer and dvd players.
